Frequently asked questions

Check your entry qualification in the Entry requirements section. If you satisfy the criteria, please consider the application process by either visiting RIC or filling in an online application form and scheduling an aptitude test.

If you have obtained less than the stipulated criteria, yet are keen to follow a degree eventually, if you are 18 years or more and have 4 passes at your Grade 10 and at least 1 pass at your Grade 12 consider the certificate route Developed by academics at LSE. The Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Social Sciences is a stand-alone qualification and a potential entry route to further undergraduate study.

Save one year in your academic career with the International Foundation Programme. Join the programme with the minimum requirement and earn a certification within a year which is on par with Cambridge/Edexcel/GCE Advance Level, or the International Baccalaureate qualification: a qualification which is recognised by many foreign Universities. It is also a great foundation to any University of London (UoL) Degree programme.

Apply with pending results, follow the certificate route as your first year and switch to the Degree route of your choice.

You can choose a graduate entry route and only cover 9 modules in 2 academic years and earn your second degree or you may opt for a Graduate Diploma, which can be a top up to your current degree. You may also consider an LLM.

If you have a foreign qualification, which is different to the listed entry requirements, you may request for a Qualification Assessment. This can be done in person, at the admissions office or online. We will assist in having your qualifications assessed for validity to enter into the programme of your choice.

  • All University of London degrees are 3-year full-time programmes
  • Deakin – Science and Environmental Science – 3-year degree programme (1st Year at RIC, 2nd and 3rd years transferred to Deakin Australia or complete all 3 years at RIC)
  • Engineering – 4 years (1st and 2nd year at RIC and 3rd and 4th years transferred to Deakin, Australia or complete all 4 years at RIC)
  • RIC Foundation for Deakin – 6 months or 1 year (Six month programme is applicable for students upon completion of Grade 12 examination without satisfying direct entry requirements to commence the degree Programmes . One year programme is applicable for students upon completion of Grade 10 examination)

At the outset of COVID-19, RIC in collaboration with Deakin University introduced the novel Cloud Campus with RIC’s located learning support that enables students to complete one additional year or full degree programme online in Sri Lanka.

The approximate monthly expenses for an Indian student in Sri Lanka inclusive of food, transport and accommodation (assumed to live within 3 km from RIC): INR 23,700 – 32,500. Please note that the academic year runs for 9 months of the year only.

As an international student, you will require a valid Student Visa to study in Sri Lanka. The team at RIC supports all our international students throughout the process of your Student Visa application. As a new student to RIC, we support your visa process as below:

  • Upon your application to RIC, you will be required to get through the preliminary interview and aptitude test
  • Based on your performance, we provide you with the official Offer Letter to confirm the acceptance of your application at RIC
  • You will be required to apply for a temporary visa to Sri Lanka at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in India based on the credential of your offer letter
  • Upon your arrival to Sri Lanka, our team will assist you to convert your temporary visa to Student Visa throughout the duration of your study at RIC
